Alistair Richardson Wedding Photography

Hello there,

My name is Al Richardson and I'm a wedding photographer. Over the years I have been privileged to capture the weddings of many happy couples, in settings as varied as a National Trust stately home, a teepee in the Lake District, and small, intimate ceremonies in venues such as a converted barn.

Whatever the wedding setting or set-up, I always aim to capture that intangible essence of the day which could only be summoned if you'd been there. Or seen my photos! I achieve this with a blend of beautiful portraits, formal and candid, which capture the intimacy between the couple, the warmth and emotion shared by family and friends, and the details that bring the day to life.

As well as just 'getting' the wedding and capturing it on camera, I believe that the second most important quality in a wedding photographer is to be unobtrusive throughout the day, and allow the interaction between guests to play out naturally. The camera is there to capture the spontaneity and nature of the wedding, not to be a distraction or an inconvenience for the guests, so I am very mindful of not forcing any unnatural shots.

I hope you like the portfolio I've put together for this site, which I think gives you an idea of my style of photography, but please do get in touch if you'd like to see more, or if you had something very specific in mind - I love a challenge!

I look forward to hearing from you.
